Will we ever see the Madden 2001 online franchise again?

Anyone remember this for the PC? The owner of the online league would host the server. People could login and do trades. I would be talking to other owners until 3am trying to work out a trade. It was a blast, but they killed it because less than 3% of the Madden players played online. I've never looked at Madden online since.

Are they running leagues now? If so, how are they?

With 360's Live network you would think something like this could work. But EA has done little expanding the online features of its games.

Sad EA got scared and had to buyout the NFLPA license. ESPN Football was on the verge of taking over Madden as the best football game, just needed sometime to convince the crowd.
