It's as simple as this. There's really nothing more to it.

Sliders are key.

If you take the time, you can make Madden into a sim like experience. For instance, up cpu running ability, and your tackles go up thru the roof. Good Defenses stand out, etc.

Of course this takes time... assuming hardcore players play more.

Still does not make it 90%. It could be that 51% are casual. 49% still makes others the minority. I guess I still do not understand how you got 90%?

Putting labels on people = usually not helpful.

I buy Madden every year. I want realistic sim stats. But I don't want the game to make me work too awful hard to win. I'm not trying to become a football expert; I just wanna run and throw and have fun, and win some and lose some.

So am I "casual" or "hardcore"?

Maybe 90% isn't the correct number but if you use statistics, the normal probability curve (a bell curve) can be used on anything with enough observations. 68% of the population resides in the middle - one standard devation from the mean. You could say the casual fan represents this number. That leaves 32% for both sides (high and low) with 16% on the low end. The 16% on the low end possibly represent less than casual fans that just play it once in awhile or when their friends get together. Maybe the game was a birthday gift they don't care much about. The other 16% on the high side probably represent the hard core fan that plays the game every day. Therefore 16% = hardcore and 84% = casual to less than casual.

My point was the more people are casual gamers than hard core when it comes to Madden.

Casual.
Just a bit of advice, arguments can be killed when un-realistic claims are made. I understand what you meant its just that when I read claims like this, I tune out the argument. Its just unreasonable to assume that 90% of folks are casual. Or that most folks people buy Madden without thinking (something else I read on this board).

Just saying.
