What do you think would happen if...

...Madden retired/croaked. Would they rename the game? If so, (and theoretically, if they had to name it after another person) who do you think they'd approach to be the headliner? Berman perhaps?

I honestly don't think they will ever change the name of this game out of respect for the franchise and John. This game transcends all sports games.

I dont think it will ever change either, and I get the feeling that at this point Madden himself has very little to zero say on what is and isnt in the game. Unlike when the franchise was still in its infancy and Madden was pretty hands on, now I figure EA just kicks him his paycheck every year and call it a day.

I agree. He doesn't even do commentary anymore on the next gen systems. I didn't like he and boring Pat Summerall too much (mostly because of the repetition though). But, I HATE this new guy, and his pseudo tin can radio sound. It SUCKS. How freakin' hard can it be to put better commentary into a game. I mean come on

I hear ya, if they would take the funds they put into the games music they surely could afford to get someone better to do the play by play.
