I didn't buy either this year due to APF. Next year I may pick up NCAA or Madden.

If APF 2k9 has what I'm looking for(franchise mode)Then i say goodbye to Madden(well except the PSP version i need my football on the go)

I don't know what it is either. I remember NFL 2k5 and NCAA 2004 the best. Those will stand out even in front the NEXT-GEN titles because they were more complete games.

The new Madden/NCAA being released is NOTHING we have not played before. The gameplay, presentation, feel. Have all remained the exacte same as the "Old-Gen". The ONLY thing they went for right away were the graphics. It sells titles. I mean look at GEARS OF WAR, it had amazing graphics. As for as the story, length of game it was a big let down and did not hold much weigth after the graphics wore off.

Developers need to make some NEXT-GEN steps. Ball physics, True realism tackles (ala Backbreaker), better QB play, better running animations, clipping, PS2 sidelines, No refs, no line judges, ect are all areas that should NOT be in the new titles.

The biggest problem is yearly releases. They should do 2 or 3 year releases just like every other big name franchise out there. It takes time to make a quality product. They should release a steller title. Start work on the next one. But release a ROSTER update for the prior one. This way they get a good two solid years to IMPROVE. As it is now we get ONE new feature and a new roster for 60$. Worth it??????????? I think not.

This is exactly how I feel.
With that being said....I fell for the hype of both games this year (no more...I GUARANTEE you that) pre-ordered both,and went to the midnight releases.

I've already traded NCAA in along with Madden (although I picked up Madden used, upon hearing confirmation of the patch).

In years past,I NEVER would've considered trading in either during the middle of football season.
It was mentioned earlier about "being older and not caring as much"...I think I'm just the opposite....when I use to play these games when I was younger,it didn't matter as much how many turnovers occurred, or lack of presentation or what-not.

IMO.....the "deal" that went down has severely crippled the football video game industry.
In years past,I can't remember such harsh backlash towards Madden...I'm sure this is not what they expected as well.

With that being said....I will wait it out next year,and IF I need my fix that bad I will pick up Madden used.

I am most likly going to play APF more OFFLINE in season mode and just do some seasons with different teams and just tweek the sliders till I get a good offline set. Online wore thin with me because it is the same routes, players, against everyone you play online.

At least the on the field play makes me

ALSO look at the poll and you can see there is a OS movement. Alot of the hardcore realism guys are not going to be putting up with this anymore. I am all for this.

As much as I didnt like the issues with this years games, im still going to be excited about the football season and wont be able to hold off on purchasing EA football next year. I think everyone who is saying they will not buy it will also do the same as me.

Im sure we will here about how improved it is and will buy into it like we have in past seasons, but thats ok.

That's where I stand. I'm too old and preoccupied with other things to worry about this stuff anymore. I'm just happy when I get 1 hour a night to play any game.
