The Madden 08 Patch Thread

Guys... To be honest here I really think this game needs more attention to detail then some patch can fix. How many years has it been now in a row that it just doesn't seem like Madden is heading in the right direction or for that matter EA period. Let me get this straight... These guys over at EA or who the "____" ever bought all these NFL licenses and what not a few years ago to corner the NFL market to this day still... still are spoon feeding us lies... crappy graphics... crappy gameplay... crappy a.i...the same crappy game models and the list goes on and on. Oh!!! not to mention that if someone wants the patch they still have to shell out money because guess what guys... that's right... the patch will only be available online!!! Via your subscription to XBox Live...Sucks... your right it does my friend especially if your online subscription has expired...ha!!! Now you have to shell out of pocket again for this patch... or better yet let's keep it real and say you have to shell out more money to enjoy Madden for a few extra weeks.

Don't get mad and bash me guys for voicing my opinion, but hey... I was playing this game for the pass few years with you. Just face the facts. EA locked up the NFL licenses preventing anyone from making NFL video games and they can't seem to make one themselve.
Madden needs a complete makeover and I'm sure next year alot more people are going to be very cautious and wait before they buy into the hype and disappointment again... It's not just Madden... IMHO all of EA's games are loosing their luster and I want so bad for it to change just like you, but hey... You decide

the project lead..DAVID ORTIZ..should be held accountable. he spent the first 2 years raving about how 'sexy' the player models were and that seat 26, section 492, row ZZ was accurately depicted in the game......while NOT focusing his resources on:

refs on the field/ field goal nets/chain gang
TV style presentation
COMPLETE and ACCURATE uniforms for all the teams

Well, you don't need the paid (Gold) subscription to Live to get a patch. The free (silver) live suffices. And if you are offline and call them, there is a chance they send you a disc with the patch on it. Not sure, since I have Live, but that would be what I would imagine.

so then the patch to fix many of the main bugs has not been release yet, is that right? The reason I ask what some may think is such an obvious question is because the blog I posted earlier makes it sound like the patch was released around the time of that article (Oct. 29th)

I love blanket statements like this. I'll agree that Madden,NASCAR and Live fit what you are saying here (though I hear Live has improved this year). But other series such as NHL and FIFA have made huge strides in the last year or two. So I don't think it's fair to say all of their games are losing their luster.

No the patch is not released yet... It failed MS testing the first time so they redid the patch and now MS has it again... I heard nov.27 as patch day but EA never confirmed it... So all we have to do now is wait and see...
