I plan on buying (especially if it does have full editing capabilities) Backbreaker and pimping it like there's no tomorrow. I will not be getting Madden. Yeah we're the minority. Even so I'll support Backbreaker all I can in the hopes to keep it around and turn a profit.

Buy it USED after a week... that way only the used game store benefits and EA doesn't get a NEW game sale. Let someone else discover that it sucks then buy it used because you're a football addict and can't stay away....

Bingo that's exactly whay I do ..I haven't bought a new copy of Madden in 4years..I have gotten to the point where If I do buy it it's used and usually around midpoint of the season to get a fix..lol..

You people are still buying this franchise? They figure that the sim gamers make up about 5% of the total sales and casual gamers 95%. I would have thought that with the 13% drop in sales, all of the sim gamers would have stopped purchasing the game and another 8% of casual gamers would have realized that Madden stinks.

If next fall has another great lineup of non-sports games like this year, Madden will definitely be down another 10%, especially with a slowing economy.

I don't buy that argument.

Evidence is 2K8 - strongest selling 2k sports title and also the most sim by far.

NHL '08 has also turned around and become more sim that before and its sales are better than ever.

If Madden sales drop again, they will have to say "wtf is going wrong with this?"
and when they ask this, they won't reason that it's too difficult, otherwise their numbers would just stay the same. The point is they are losing their original customers while at the same time not getting many (if any) new ones.

There are way more hardcore gamers that you think, and they are the ones who actually BUY games.
