Don't ask how I found this old thread, but I thought it was cool to look at how excited we were this time last year to hear from a dev for the first time, and how a yyear later we have guys from the forums going to a community day...

And if you'll notice in the very first post on the first page, it looks like the first person a dev responded to was one of my posts!! SWEET!

I got all the way to these quotes before I realized this is from last year. I thought for a minute EA wised up and ditched Tom "Danger Will Robinson, Danger" Hammond for a new announcer.

Re: Presentation. It's already been announced that we're changing up our announcer on 360 and PS3 this year. Maybe that's a hint of more presentation changes to come for Madden 09.


e: Refs - We have seen the many posts that clearly indicate the fact that refs on the field is important. That being said, we have not added refs to the field during gampley in Madden 09.

i remember getting all excited for 09 due to the dev feedback...unfortunately, it didnt come close to the hype...M10 will have to get great reviews by this board for me top drop 65 bucks on this game again..im not buying it on hype alone this year, and hopefully many of the fanboys(like me) feel the same. If i miss this year, which is probable, it will be the first Madden since its inception that i didnt purchase.

Hate to break it to you - but you're skipping the wrong year my man.

If you've been around, we aren't here for hype...we've been here answering questions, taking feedback, and changing the game (almost in realtime) strictly based on the posts being put on these forums. I think the depth and breadth of our feature set speaks for itself - we've just scratched the surface and I feel like we're blowing previous years away. But I'm biased.

I obviously understand you being cautious though.

Ian, whats it like to know millions of people are buying your product and its up to you to go all David Ortiz, or listen to this little community and go sim?

I mean, going sim is a big risk, is it not? Why are you taking that risk?

Don't get me wrong, I love sim, but the fact your taking a big risk IMO. A good risk though.
