I've wondered the same thing. I would be anything it has to do with revenue. ESPN doesn't care if a game is "looking like it will eventually sell more copies in the future." I'm what they're being paid by EA to use the ESPN license is much more than 2k offered to piggyback on ESPN's already big name.

I remember EA saying something for a older madden or NBA Live about wanting to use their own "EA Sports" type of broadcasting...to me they just wanted to jump on it so 2K couldnt get it.

It is THE sports entertainment provider of the world. All it cares about now is spreading that entertainment. Their deal with EA/Madden does that.

Whatever man, it's pathetic how people come up with conspiracy theories in trying to come up with excused to why maddens atmosphere and presentation has been lacking and neglected for many many years. Where are you guys getting this insider information other than from yourself sitting on a computer chair making up scenarios to bail EA out.

EA doesn't even need to use it's espn license to make the atmosphere better. So, there really are no valid excuses. What are your conspiracy theories regarding that fact?

EA doesn't want to and will not be anyones pet my friend. So, for them to sit back and do nothing about the ESPN broadcast integration (ala ESPN NFL 2k5 type broadcast) is EA's own doing. ESPN and the NFL both would want to benefit even more off of the broadcast system. It's all about the cash money and all three companies mentioned here will cut each others throats to get it.
