Or maybe it' because 4 years later, people are still playing the game and enjoying the heck out of it. Longevity and replayability; that's the true test of how good a sports game is.

Uh-huh, sure. That's why videos of 2K5 are still being used to illustrate gang tackling.

Actually, I already addressed this issue a couple of pages back. I'll post it again for you:

"And just in case some of you guys are thinking this is coming from someone who loves 2K and never gives Madden a chance, I'll say this. I joined this forum while the ESPN NFL 2K vs. Madden battle was raging - hence the reason for the "2krules" name. Until the point EA got the official license, I hadn't liked Madden since 2002. Since EA got the license, I bought every Madden and enjoyed each one at least a little bit (my favorite being 07, which I played the heck out of)."

Re: RUSSELL05 Franchise Impressions and Season Stats Blowout

Rawdeal to be completely honest with you and from one Madden fan to another, the only person making this thread a 2K vs Madden thing, is you. I am not a fan of 2K football, played it, just couldn't get into it, most likely because I was so used to Madden that I didn't want to change, but I am not about to turn a blind eye to everything that it did well. There are three things(were 4 but EA is working on gang tackling) that I hope that Madden borrows, steals, or robs the 2K franchise of and those are:

*Presentation
*OL/DL Interaction
*WR/DB interaction

If the developers of Madden can take these three things from 2K and make it their own, we all(2k fans and Madden fans alike) will be in for the treat of our football gaming lives.

Thanks, I wish people would look up actual nfl stats and compare before they go crazy saying something is wrong. Good find.

Great post and so true. I'm a 2k fan and I'm more than willing to try madden this year, especially with how they are trying to incorporate the things 2k did so well into this years game. 2k5 was a great game for it's time, and all pro 2k8 was a taste of what could have been but if either one of those games can make madden better then I'm all for it.
