I know a lot of people are franchise fans, but for me, it's all about online play.

I'm excited about the online leagues, but I haven't see much info or hype about it.

Next gen isn't just about improved graphics and gameplay. It's about how a game functions online. A lot of people may get joy playing the computer, but nothing compares to real opponents IMO.

If a feature doesn't carry over to online play, it might as well not exist at all.

Alternate jerseys? Great, except you can't use them online. Import created plays from NFL Head Coach 09? Great, except you can't use them online.

I think the addition of online leagues is exciting. Very exciting. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about it.

Somewhat excited, to me this is more for the guild crowd, I'm more into a quick pick up and play online game as opposed to a season vs the same people.

Yeah I run a madden league myself but the lack of website accessabilty makes me not care about it 1 bit. So its leaguedaddy for me.

Online play is ok until u realize 90% of the people online are the casual gamers who only play as the pats or the colts, gets boring playing the same 2 teams 10 times. Id rather rebuild a franchise.

I'll wait to see how it is. All I know it's about time there is some sort of upgrade for online play. It has been nearly identical since madden 2003.

It would be a lot easier to be excited about Online leagues if It didn't seem like a half-a$$ed attempt by EA to copy another 2K8 feature...
(as much as Ian has referred to 2K8, I am beginning to wonder where a lot of these ideas and "new features" actually came from... the minds of people at EA or 2K Sports?)

Not that I mind any of that... I only ask that instead of giving the consumer stripped down versions of what we should have, give us the fully loaded features... This feels and seems more like a $40 Online Game and a $30 Franchise game...

I was really excited about 09 until I saw a lot of what was going on with the non-gameplay aspects.

Not excited at all...I don't really play online. I am happy for the people who have been desparately waiting for some online features though (I have a few online addicted friends also
