I just want to clear something up, I heard that there was and that there wansnt in game saves. Is there or is there not?

A true 7 step drop back (yeah i know those dont exist in EA football games but bare with me) would place you 10-12 yards behind the LOS before you the stepped up into the throw.

so in order to do a spec catch, i have to allow the cpu to do it, instead of me doing it manually?

is there something wrong with that?

It means you can't build your offense around the ability to force spectacular catches on every play.
