The only time the clock should be visible during gameplay is when nearing a crucial moment i.e. the 2 minute warning and below. All that would need to be displayed is the playcock and play timer countdown. They could use a transparent display in a lower or upper corner. The huge one that they use now has to be changed or only used during non-gameplay moments.

It's not very realistic to be able to know the exact playcock at all times anyways.

What game are you playing? I don't want to know any playcock.

I liked it better as a horizontal bar on the bottom as well. Gave it more of a broadcast look compared to FOX and NBC. If they must keep it though, during the plays they could minimize the scoreboard and just keep the clock and score to make it stand out less since it should be smaller. Kinda like how NFL Network score overlay looks.

Glad to know i wasn't alone in thinking this.

I agree with many of you that it should disappear OR have the ability to at least be optioned out in user settings....

here's an idea, just have it appear on a scoreboard that you cut to when calling plays like in generation 1 maddens.
