I think it should be scraped too, Id rather it be a way to shed blocks, right finesse move, left power move, that would be better

Re: Scrap the hit stick?

It doesn't make sense to scrap it. Are big hits not a part of football? How many times have we heard commentators say the defender tried to go for a big hit instead of wrapping up the ball carrier. Hit stick just needs to be tuned as some have already mentioned.

Currently I don't think the likelihood of success goes up or down based on skill level, and this would be a good way to keep the default skill level a hit-stick fest but on All-Madden make it much riskier but maybe give more reward for getting it right (i.e. more fumbles since it's now harder to do?)
I'd like something along these lines.

Re: Scrap the hit stick?

I'd love the option to late hit with it again. It was always fun on the Genesis Maddens to tackle the QB over and over after the play until he was injured!

I agree that it should be riskier for someone who isn't as big of a hitter.

I kinda like this idea for bad tacklers, making it riskier by adding longer startup and ending animations. This just might work...

Good idea Ian...

Re: Scrap the hit stick?

But the no-name type players or players with low ratings shouldn't just miss as a result. They should stand up ball carriers at least or just wrap them up, not necessarily miss. There's too many instances where, thanks to poor pursuit, players miss on the tackle and it turns into a 75 yard play.

Re: Scrap the hit stick?

I heart hitstick

hitsticking on ncaa with a small player (<5'9' is almost impossible)

but with big guys and impact players there;s a much better chance.

I think madden uses the hitstick quite well. brick walls and hard hitters regularly lay the wood, whilst smaller dbs and safety often miss, but sometimes do make big hits (like they should).

Just tweaking of the hitstick is what needed.

I heart hitstick.
