To everyone angry about recent developments

You should have learned your lesson by now. I should have learned it.

This outcry has no impact on anything. EA still has no competition for NFL football games. They will continue to skimp on production and send mouthpieces to forums in order to maintain a hilarious pretense that making a great game is even possible with the resources given. Some of you will blame the creative team which is a bit like blaming a chef for not being able to make a great meal with spam.

A record number of fools (including most of us), will still buy this game. The vast majority of mainstream customers won't even notice any of the problems.

You all think your opinion matters? Most people I know who bought 08 think it's a GREAT game. That's dozens of people right there. I'm the only person who even talks about the multitude of problems. The rest of them weren't even aware of franchise being broken because they never went past year 2 anyway.

Only about 10% of the customer base is even dissatisfied. Sure, EA will make some promises, send some people out and placate that 10%. But if you think they are going to spend 10+ million just to satisfy an extra 10%, you're insane. And it's not even 10%. The brutal reality is that since a bunch of you will still continue to buy this game, to a businessman that's the same as a satisfied customer. So in practical terms only about 5% are dissatisfied with this game.

Uniform errors? Most people don't even know what uniforms various NFL teams are wearing this year. Let alone that madden got them wrong. I have a friend who is a die hard chargers fan and I was the first to tell him the Chargers were changing uniforms. After seeing them he thought they were just the old powder blues.

Sim stats? Most people don't even have a feel for what a realistic stat breakdown looks like. Think the ubiquity of fantasy football is helping that? I play in TWENTY fantasy football leagues and with hundreds of people. I bet only a dozen can tell me how many yards Adrian Peterson rushed for plus/minus fifty.

Arcade gameplay? Most people LIKE that.

Accelerated clock? Most people aren't even aware of it or why it's needed. I once knew a guy who didn't notice the clock was accelerating until SIX months after the game release.

Want to know why EA won't change? Because by all relevant barometers, they are doing WELL. They have increased market share, controlled costs, and they are "satisfying" the vast majority of their customers.

Your best bet is to emotionally divest yourself from this situation, not hope and pray that a company will decide to "fix" a successful business model.

Damn you typed all that to say something everyone already knew. I guess you haven't completely learned yet either. Whether you complain or try and be a voice of reason people will still buy what they want and complain about what they want to.
