Also Bill, are you using Madden IQ where it adjusts after every game or are you just using your own consistent settings? It seems like the Madden IQ would just alternate every game as far as realism to unrealistic stats if that makes sense, unless it takes longer term data into value more than game by game performance or something

Using my own. I really don't like the IQ thing at all to be honest.

I don't think anything will replace playing another human, but I am starting to warm to the game more than I thought I would after the first few days.

Bill, thanks for all the great info. I was not going to give Madden a shot this year, but I am now on the fence after reading your blog. In the last Steelers/Browns game, did you have to drastically lower the Shed Block sliders to get those running results? They were pretty realistic. Thanks!

Heh, yeah I'm right on the fence, too. The AI needs a boost -- at times it will do something that will literally make you laugh out loud, but I am enjoying it a lot more than I did after the first few days. At least I have RoboQb under control which was a HUGE issue with me.

Yeah, I lowered shed block a LOT (can't recall the exact number). My WR catch is at 0, my QB Acc is now at 25, and I am also boosting my running (I think 75 for both blocking and break tackle). If you can run the ball well on default you are the MAN.

When you say Romo started missing throws, do you mean throws where balls hit the ground without being deflected or dropped?

Also, any word on the two controller thing?

Tuesday is my 30 and over basketball league night and also the night that I coach my girl's soccer team. I'm booked.

Yeah, Romo missed some guys with legit bad passes (overthrows mostly)

I'm at halftime vs the Ravens and Flacco is 11/21. I'm very confident I have "solved" for lack of a better word the RoboQB issue. Man defense, baby. I noticed that OS ran an article re: NCAA and Man D. That is certainly the case w/ Madden.

But listen guys, you are still going to see things that annoy you. As I was telling Bill Harris, if I see one more 5 yard square in on 3rd and 12 I'm gonna scream. The AI playcalling leaves a lot to be desired, plain and simple. I have yet to see the AI throw a bomb and 20 yard passes (20 yards in the air) are very rare. They happen more than NCAA 09 but by far the majority of passes are of the 4-8 yard variety. And then there's the whole "no onisde kick" thing. Ian already confirmed that they have identified the issue with players running out of bounds for no reason so I can only assume that'll be in a patch.

But if you can live with that there's a lot to like and the 2 player game is a heck of a lot of fun.

Glad to hear you are warming up to the game. Everytime I read your blog I get more and more excited for this years version.

Did the Shed Block Slider noticibly increase the YPC for the CPU at all?
