datruth, since you actually didn't put this into a rant of any sense, I'll give a good answer instead of the sarcastic crap that I would otherwise use.

The problem I see with this list is that it's not like the Madden team went "well, they all want realistic animations, but instead we'll give them grass" or "screw the uniforms, let's just do better lighting." You're presenting this as though they faced a one or the other choice between two options for what they could code and make work in the game. I'm sure there are a lot of things that the Madden teams WANTS to get into the game, but unfortunately, time becomes an issue and they have to pick and choose just what they can afford to get into it. (Maybe the real solution is to have two different parts of the team, one that does the version each year, and one that continually develops new systems, components, and so on that doesn't have to stop for beta-testing in June)

The other problem is that, while there are some large exceptions to this rule, I think in general, different people want different things out of Madden. I know there are people who cannot live without having every single uniform option available in Madden. There are others, like myself, who really don't care about something like that, and would favor other options such as the lighting, or the more realistic weather.

While I do think that the developers should be listening to its fanbase about what should go into the game (at least in cases like sports games), I also think that there is a caveat that sometimes, everything we want just cannot make it in. I think even in some of the posts here from the EA reps, they even seem disappointed sometimes by features that didn't make it in or that are "broken." Whether it is "laziness" or "lack of competition" or just simple lack of time, I don't know. Ultimately, I think Madden is never going to be perfect, but nothing will be. If you like what it's offering, like I do right now, and hopefully will still in a week, and a month, and so on, then get it. It may not have everything I want in it, but if I still like it enough I'll get it. Hopefully they can put even more cool features in it if they got the 85 to work well this time around.

I agree one has nothing to do with the other but I was not trying to make direct comparisons.
I was simply stating:

A = this is what the developers added/changed this year.

Vs.

B = this is a feature (high on some peoples list) that we have asked for in the past and is still missing or needs improvement.

Great response!

I may have given off the wrong impression. I don't believe EA had a check list and chose one feature over the other.

1. I am merely looking for opinions as to what others expected after 3 years.

2. Compare that to what we were given in 09.

3. Forward our differences to community leaders and hope we (EA and hardcore Madden fans) can meet closer to the middle in the years to come.

I see what the OP is getting at, and yes, there are things missing out. But it hink a more constructive way of doing this would be to start a thread, or PM Ian and let them know what we want in 2010. Give them a good lead. Complaining and griping on 2009 wont help. If we can be constructive and give decent examples, id like to believe that the EA team that is here will take those and look into them.
