He has mentioned before that cheeser stuff pisses him off. He also doesn't like the fact that we can go for it on 4th down in the first half when up by 21 points. He wants a realistic strict game where the gamers play realistically.

you would think EA would check things out with him eventhough he probably isn't a gamer as we are for approval and things to work on since they use his name to sell it.

Back when Madden Football was being first conceived, John wouldn't even let EA put his name on the game until they could get the game to run with 11 players vs 11 players. Things have definitely changed since then, because over the years and certainly in this generation, having fewer than 11 vs 11 would actually be a less severe problem than many of the other issues, lol.

With all due respect to John, I'm very skeptical of the influence he reports to have on this game now. If he knew about a number of problems in the series that have happened this generation, I doubt he'd be pleased.

Sure, Madden denies he's a figurehead in that interview...but is it just me or did Madden have much more of a say in the final product back in the early Trip Hawkins and Visual Concepts days? I'm sure Madden is present for SOME of the brainstorming sessions over at Tiburon in recent years but it feels like he's not as involved as he used to be in the project. I wonder how many features Madden himself has proposed to the developers in the past ten years, for instance...

Now that the game sells over 4M copies I don't think Madden cares how many guys are on the field. His name being synonymous with video game football is very lucrative for him, and will be, well into the future.
