Are CPU generated drafts unbalanced?

I wanna start off by saying that I love this year's Madden. I promised after last year that I was never gonna 'Madden' it again. But this year's version is fantastic.

Has anyone else noticed that the CPU generated drafts (Not NCAA imported) are extremely unbalanced? I'm in year 4 of my franchise and there are a few issues that concern me;

1) There's not enough high powered talent coming out. In any one draft, there maybe 5 playmakers (rated in the 80's), which is fine, but the drop off in talent after that is pretty big.

2) The high powered talent is almost always at DB or WR

3) There is absolutely no talent coming out at OL, DL or LB. And when I say no talent I mean the highest rated player would be a 76 and that's usually at DE, everyone else is in the 50's and 60's, and this has been the last 4 drafts.

Have I just had a bad string of drafts coincidentally, was this done purposely for a reason, or is it just broken?

Re: Are CPU generated drafts unbalanced?

This happened to me to as well. I also tried using NCAA Draft Classes, and basically the exact OPPOSITE happens. You have players like Knowshon Moreno and Tim Tebow coming into the league at a 94 OVR.

There seems to be no medium...

Re: Are CPU generated drafts unbalanced?

They are just flat out terrible.

They have sucked for 4 years.

The ratings are awful and with progression a mess it's hopeless. I don't know how it hasn't been fixed in 4 years.

There's FIRST ROUND QB's with 78 THP....WHAT?

FIRST ROUND HB's/WR's with 82 SPD....what a mess.

The NCAA imports are a little high rated and have weird speed decreases in later round picks, but they're FAr better thean the MGD players.

Check out the testing that was done here. Sadly...the computer still has idiot drafts.

Re: Are CPU generated drafts unbalanced?

I usually go through and sort all the players in the league by age and go through each position to analyze the new players coming in, and it doesn't look promising. After 4 years only the group of rookies that the game ships with has any significant playmakers among the group of 21-26. Is there any way to get NCAA draft classes online? I bought NCAA and took it back before opening it after reading the poor user reviews. But I can't continue with my franchise if the rookies continue to come in like this.

Re: Are CPU generated drafts unbalanced?

This has always been a problem in Madden. The only way around it is playing on the PC version, and using a draft class re-rater (shameless plug :P).

Re: Are CPU generated drafts unbalanced?

They are unbalanced as well as they are very thin altogether. Both generated and imported do not have enough players. I was in the 2nd round and there were only 4 QB's left. LOL

If anyone ever got past season 6-7 (however the hell they would've managed that torment) I'm sure there wouldn't be enough players in the leauge
