Throwing the ball

Is there a way to control where the ball goes. I having a major problem passing. Which is hurting my ability to rush. I not sure exactly how to get better so i ran practice random plays offensive and defensive but was curious if there was a way to get the qb to throw like in front the receiver and then on the inside or on the outside. Also any suggestions for passing I just can't figure it out. I can normally find the open man if the pressure isn't there but soon as its gets there i freak and throw a pick. I really really want to improve this. Thanks

Use the left joystick (press the direction you want the ball to go, just a little though, not all the way over), It also helps if your qb is standing still.
