Re: EA Response to Fatigue discussion

I hope they can get this fixed because its a game killer for me personally, I rarely play online, deep franchise is the reason I keep schelling out the money every year and it seems every year the frachise mode is an afterthought. Not everybody buys this game to play online, without proper fatigue on the defensive side of the ball, and the ability to pound the ball and control the clock, its dissapointing to say the least.

Re: EA Response to Fatigue discussion

I looked during the commercial of the Jets game, and there is an auto-sub slider. If you want your back-ups to get more reps, just adjust the slider and raise it from the default setting (63% out).

I can't see how adjusting the fatigue so people can't exploit it during head to head and giving the user the ability to adjust the frequency of the subs is a bad thing.

The sliders don't work. I have 99/100 sub in/out ratios for ALL positions. I am an offline franchise only guy, so this is a game killer. I don't want to play arcade mode, I want to use my depth!

Then that sucks. I don't know what the point of putting something like that in the game for it not to work...Is it me, or has this year been a banner year for the testers at EA? It seems like a lot of stuff "trickled" through the testing phase. There were (and still are) some bigtime bugs in NCAA, and it looks like they left some big holes in Madden. The fatigue remedy seems logical, but to have the slider have no effect is just sloppy.

I think a better way to address this would have been to make it so that if the offense ran a no-huddle, the defensive players' fatigue returns to what it was before the last play.

That is the reason I made a post asking EA/Ian/Phil whoever what doesn't work, like sliders, ratings, etc. Too bad no one bumped it and no one replied from EA.

I know there were a number of things that didn't work last year, some player ratings for example.

It would be nice it they let us know what changes they made to the game and what is in the game that isn't working.

I do not understand what is so hard about just telling us what they changed and what doesn't work (that is in the game) every year. Would save all of us a hell of a lot of time every year.

From what I've seen, I'm not so sure the entire game wasn't made with this philosophy, or at the very least, heavily weighted towards online play. Offline play, and franchise in particular, is in far worse shape right now. There are bigger issues than defensive fatigue, which has annually been overly exaggerated in video game football. Outside of the d-line, on long drives, teams simply do not substitute out nearly as much due to fatigue. Most teams sub out due to packages, not fatigue.

I agree with EA on this one. Last year's model was in no way near realistic. I'm not convinced this year really works as intended, but their goal is spot on.

Re: EA Response to Fatigue discussion

I wonder what the likelihood of getting the sub in/out sliders fixed is. I don't think it sounds like a complicated thing. Maybe the sliders aren't "plugged in" and are only there for show. Maybe they could "flip the switch" and release that as a patch. Yeah, not very technical analogies. I think I am just hoping for an easy fix so this can be addressed. I am not having much fun using one RB, one set of DL, one set of LB... etc. Might as well be playing arcade mode.

EDIT: I just read an interesting tidbit in the Patch 1 discussion thread. It seems that the interceptions sliders was "fine tuned to amplify the effect". That sounds like good news regarding this slider. Maybe a tweak is all it needs. No more RB's running for 3+ straight plays without having to take one play off. Yay!
