Fair Catch on Punt

Okay, in the manual it says that "Y" is the fair catch button. However, I'm having trouble calling a fair catch as funny as it sounds. I havnt played madden in a few years and think I'm doing something wrong. I have tried holding Y to get a fair catch and nothing happens and I also tried hitting y while the ball is in the air and nothing happen besides my returner getting lit up.

Someone please help a dummy out

Don't know what to tell you but you need to press it before defenders get within like 15 yards of your returner.

You have to highlight the punt returner using B button then Y button.

There's a delay on the fair catch this year anyway.

I don't have a problem with Fair Catch on punts, know how to do that. How do you take a knee in the endzone after catching a kickoff or punt? My returner takes off out of the endzone before I can even control him, and on the slim chance I can gain control of him before he gets out of the endzone I haven't found the correct button to make him take a knee and he gets pummeled because I am just running around in circles trying to figure out which button to press to take a knee. The manual just says to stay in the endzone for a touchback, but I want him to take a knee before I end up getting him injured, lol.

Lol, yeah just stay still and it takes the knee automatically.
