What's the point of wasting money by signing a highly rated offensive line?

Let's be honest here, there really is no noticeable difference in performance between a 90+ rated lineman and a 60+ rated lineman. As far as I can tell, both overall ratings play almost identical to each other. Why waste money on an offensive line if this is the case? You might as well spend money on other positions that actually make a difference.

They same goes for the other positions as well.
after a few games a 69 rated player will be a 85 rated player

You don't even need an offensive line in Madden - just pick your favorite receiver, snap the ball, drop back ten yards (remembering the button icon for that receiver) and chuck it when you are about to get hit.

This is true since stats are non-existent in this game sadly....

The luster, if this game had any, is gone. The actual game plays a bit better but it feels very vanilla. I cant tell any difference between QB's. good WR's. just about anybody.

I dunno. dissapointed.

Just a few of the reasons why I could never understand the love affair some have with playing the computer. I would just check out Head Coach for a good single player experience.
