Adembroski.
I use and I am still tweaking my own custom sliders. I don't think they should take out sliders at all.

I think the main point here is making the ratings mean more. At the moment with some of the ratings its hard to tell if they do anything.

Look at the most important rating in the game. Qb awareness. For the user it does nothing.

One thing ea can do for madden 10 that would improve it alot. Make the sliders a percentage instead of a number.

Interceptions slider at 0% = every time a defender gets his hands on the ball he drops it.

At 100% = never drop an int

I don't know why they can't do this.

For the CPU it does nothing hence the robo QB. I'm not a game programmer, I just play one on here but you'd think programming realistic QB awareness AI would be the hardest to do.

I've thought about what the thread starter has said a number of times.

There shouldnt really be a difficulty rating. Each team should play according to their stats. Maybe you could set their form - Poor form and that wont be as clinical and getting INTs and Sacks etc.. But mostly form could be random in just quick play.

Going old school here but back in the day Tecmo Superbowl's player ratings were very evident on the field. What's more they would go on hot and cold streaks and it would dramatically affect their play. I know you could go 16-0 pretty easy with that game but the point is different teams presented a different challenge based on the personnel. With Madden I feel like I'm playing against the same team every week but just with a different uniform.

This is the benchmark. Tecmo didn't have difficulty levels. If you could go 16-0 with the Colts, you are awesome. That was your "all madden" mode.

You want easy mode? Use the 9ers.

That team is a better team than mine, so it should be a tough game no matter what.

Player ratings should determine it all, not a difficulty setting.
So what difficulty was the Pats/Dolphins game on yesterday?

Sigh. The reason difficulty modes and sliders need to exist is because different gamers play games in different ways. Does anyone really think EA is capable of coding a game so it can react to the way I and everyone else play and tweak itself to be as difficult as necessary to produce realistic results across the board? I am HIGHLY skeptical. Or EA could just make sure the sliders work and I can beta test the gameplay myself and adjust from there.
