I play with weapons turned on, but the icons are off. I dislike unnecessary icons/graphics on screen. I feel like it takes away from the immersion factor.

what do weapons actually do when turned on? I thought they were just an icon to let you know who has a strong arm or who is fast or who is a good power rusher. So a WR with 98 speed will run faster with the weapon on than if it was off?

loL. Weapons are merely indicators of players abilities. They do not do anything.

Besides the smart weapon, all weapons are indicators.

And speed is exponential. SO a 98 spd player is noticeably faster than 97.

i like weapons on. It adds to the 'my team is the greatest' feeling.

Are we playing the same game? 90 SPD CB's keep up with Hester no problem and in my online league 80 SPD LB's can keep up with Deshaun Jackson on streaks.

I'd like to get a definitive answer on this from one of the developers about the difference in gameplay and which one was designed for the fairest gameplay. It IS more than just icons because there are separate options to turn off icons and turn off the weapons system all together.

I've been practicing a lot in hardcore mode with everything turned off and I get better gameplay in my opinion, but it may be my imagination. That, and robo QB doesn't kill me and I'm even able to play man coverage in spots.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think this is incorrect. I believe that showing the weapon icons is different from having weapons turned on/off. That's why there's an option to do either/or in the settings menu.

Unfortunately, the manual is a joke.

Weapons mismatch just shows you a graphical line between one of your players and a potentially overmatched defender when you hit R2/RT to zoom out pre-play.

i.e. a really good slot WR being covered by a slow OLB.
