I will quietly put my hand up and admit that I love madden 09 as well. Maybe it is because I am just not as picky as I used to be. The older I get (soon to be 31), the less I worry about robo qb and pursuit angles, comeback AI and super LBs, etc...instead, i am worrying about winning and losing...and having fun. I understand that all these issues prevent most from having fun, but luckily not for me. I think madden 09 is a fun game and it is visually a treat to look at (yes I am a graphics junkie). Sure, I am frustrated at times when I see the lack of presentation and other things like OL/DL interaction that I see in a 4 year old game....but it is what it is....and madden 09 does do some things right believe it or not.
I think that I have played so much ESPN NFL 2k5 that I just can't play it anymore. I didn't like madden 08 that much, 07 even less and didn't own 06. SO this is actually the first madden I am enjoying on my 360. I know it is to each their own, but I am just glad that I am out of the phase of worring about how real or sime a video game is and just play the game to have fun.....and that is exactly what I am doing.
I am 3-4 in my Jags franchise and I am having a blast. I have never won the superbowl in madden and I will have fun trying again this year. There is a ton I have to do too. The Jags came in to my franchise mode with high hopes with a 91 rating this year. But the running game is off to a slow start and David Garrard has been struggling...he has already doubled his int totals from last year. I need another corner opposite Rashean Mathis (who has been great this year so far) because Drayton Florence just isn't cutting it. I am using NCAA classes and I am just going to deal with the high ratings... It will be interesting who I will draft this year.
