Re: So how is Madden?

Definitely rent it first if you have concerns, but I think it's worth buying.

The biggest disappointment for me was the online leagues. I was looking forward to belonging to a 32-team league, but with Madden 09's set-up, that would mean a minimum of 31 games in a season. That's just ridiculous.

I'm not a franchise player, but I gave it a try since so many people talk about it, and...well...I'm still not a franchise player. But I can easily see how the franchise mode has the potential to be amazing. It's a shame more attention wasn't paid to it.

Re: So how is Madden?

Post patch#2 its a decent game of football.. but every time I find myself really enjoying the game (which is most of the time now after patch#2) , an annoying bug or glitch pops up and kind of sours the experience for me.

I won't list out these annoying bugs, they are easy to find.. just read the glitch thread.

Bottom line is I think its worth a purchase, but not full retail price..
I got the Collector's edition at target for $45, and I think its worth the money for that price.

So, either rent, ebay, or buy used somewhere would be my suggestion.

Renting it first is a good idea.

I think it's the best of the next gen Madden games...but as others have said, some flaws have to be dealt with.

If you enjoy winning the superbowl every year, being ranked number 1 in total defense, and wondering when/if it's going to freeze up, go for it.

I'd say - Rent it. Take it back, and forget all about it.

Re: So how is Madden?

as you can tell by the different positive/negative posts, there are many different oppinions on this game...

i personally like it..

but depending on what you are looking for, you should either rent it, or go through the rest of the threads to decide if you would like it or not...
