SpotLight question

When you are on defense and you spot light a WR or TE what does that do exactly?

From what I have seen while using it, absolutely nothing!

Re: SpotLight question

It's for use when playing a zone defense. If you're in a zone defense and highlight a player, when that player enters one of your defenders zones, the defender is supposed to put all of his attention on that highlighted player. It's not for use in man defense.

Thanks, thats the best description Ive read for this. I was using it all the time against New Orleans and spotlighting Bush all game and used it sporadically against New England Moss but wasnt aware that it was only for zone coverage and not man.

Cool Re: SpotLight question

yeah, it will apply only to the players playing zone coverage. So if Moss runs into a "zoned" area then he will basically be double covered. However, if his route doesnt run into one of these areas then the zoned defenders will not focus on him.

Also, I would not depend on the defensive AI handling this correctly without extensive labbing.
