Franchise houserule

After finally tweaking my sliders to my liking and following the release of the 2nd patch I am ready to start a franchise.

But in my test franchise I have run into some problems with franchise mode:

1. Imported draft classes. As we know the players from ncaa comes in rated way top high. What can be done? Are there some edited draft classes availiable? Use madden generated drafts?

2. Penalty sliders. After the 2nd patch holding is called alot. Is there someone with a solid set of penalty sliders?

3. In the offseason I have a house rule that forces me to release all my potential free agents. I may sign one using the franchise tag. This is done to limit amount of star players on my team. But what should be done with the player with the franchise tag in the next offseason. Released? Resigned normally? franchise again?

4. Another house rule is that I may only make one offer to a free agent each day.

5. Should you control all 32 teams during free agency and the draft to limit stupid fa moves and drafts. I would rather not do this so is there a good workaround? Like bidding on fa qb´s so the ai will not draft all qb´s in the first round. Generally I try to offer contracts to alot of free agents to get the ai to offer contracts otherwise the fa action is very limited.

Please make suggestions and let me know of the house rules you use to make your franchise challenging.

regards

Re: Franchise houserule

Here's answers to a few of your questions:

1. Use wookie84's draft classes (if you're a PS3 user that is) - Link

2. NJPapi's penalty sliders are a good start - Link

3. That's all up to you.

4. That's not a bad rule actually.

5. I personally would control all 32 teams for the draft...you could always sim certain picks, it's not like you have to pick for EVERY single team for EVERY single draft pick...you could do like the first round and then sim the rest besides the pick's you'd like.

Thanks for the input especially about the draft classes. I am on ps3 so that will do nicely.

Regarding 5. What criteria do you draft by for the "cpu" teams: Best player availiable? need?

Regarding 3. I think I will resign the tagged player in the next offseason.
