This year’s rocket catch is very difficult to perfect, ESPECIALLY online. And yea, its very very tough to stop. But considering how much easier it was to pull off last year, and how rarely you see it this year compared to last, if you start crying about how .001% of players can pull it off on a regular basis you might as well just give the game up. This is such a miniscule problem it isn't worth even mentioning.

Re: NOTE: Removing the strafe button does not eliminate rocket catch.

2 cheesers in a row killed my win streak and my buzz for this game. I started feeling like I was trying to "preserve the integrity" of a game that didn't deserve it. I started to get the feeling of when I used to play NBA Live in the old days and got tired of 3, dunk, 3, dunk, the shot charts were horrible. I eventually gave up on the NBA games knowing that people would always exploit the games...

But, here comes football! With the 4 down system giving the game structure and slowing down play to a realistic pace, I began to think football gaming was for me. Well, appearantly I began "really" getting them at the wrong time, 2006 lol, the beginning of the EA contract. I am not a blind EA basher, and am going back to PS2 09 and will give it a try looking for a decent football game. I am also going to try Nba 2k9 as I am hearing that game is real nice, but I am pretty sure online will be dunk, 3, dunk, 3.....

sigh

No wonder I thought I've never seen a rocket catch. I assumed "rocket" meant the WR was leaping abnormally high. Without the explaination, that play looked normal.

EA has a lot of animation work to do if this is going to be the realistic game Ian promised. Without realistic physics/momentum & matching animations(plants & gathering steps), users are able to do some ridiculous things. And they have to remember to make offense, defense, user controlled players & CPU controlled players adhere to the laws of physics.

That play is fine. The issue isn't OMG ROCKET CATCH, the issue is "people online are dicks". You have about a 1 in 3 chance of completing that play, which is perfectly fine if you're playing the game the right way. The problem is people running the same play over and over and over because everyone has to have the best record. Taking away the leaderboards and not tracking any records would fix it before doing anything else to the controls or game physics.
