Has it hit anyone else how sad this is?

I don't know why it didn't hit me sooner, but as I was reading these threads today I realized just how pitiful this all has gotten.

ALMOST every thread I read is all of our desperate attempts to try to make this game playable/realistic/less buggy....it's really kind of depressing. Here we are, trying to adjust ratings, change settings, setting up dummy profiles......all of this just to do what SHOULD be done when we open the box.

And in a matter of 1 or 2 weeks after its release, we were already making wishlists and listing fixes for NEXT years game, and talking about how we HOPE it will be better!! Oh, how Madden has fallen.

That is just really pretty sad when you think about it. I can remember the years when about all I did for weeks after its release is play Madden every time I had the time......now it's just too frustrating and difficult trying to make it playable and enjoyable.

End of rant....

I feel your pain. I'm sitting on this website day after day to make this game better. I so fed up.

It seems like the next-gen games are less enjoyable than back in the day with my PS2.

i wouldn't lump all next gen in that statement. hell i wouldn't even put all next gen sports games in that statement. have you not played MLB The Show 08. That game is amazing. Immersion, fun, replayable, completely customizable, player editable, and oh yea, the biggest thing of all, great gameplay mechanics. Don't know if it is because it is on a blu ray disc, which allows for alot more space to put in extras ( presentation ) that madden lacks, if so... is it fair to penalize ps3 owners kuz microsoft makes you buy the HD DVD player seperate? im so glad that the show is a sony exclusive, don't have to worry about that issue coming up.

^^^^^^So true. The Show was my first-ever baseball video game, and it's one of the best purchases I've ever made since getting my PS3. Makes me wonder how The Show 09 can top it!

yup i bought a PS3 just for MLB 08.... but anyways MJenness is right... go look at the NCAA football forums and they are all talking about just random football stuff and 2 qb systems and pride stickers and stuff.... then come to the Madden forums and it's all about things that need to be fixed....

Holy GOD... the only things that take up that space are textures/images and video. The code to do presentation is TINY. Code, compared to textures/images is miniscule.

I'm sick of hearing this all the time.

Ian has stated that SPACE on the disks is NOT an issue....there is still plenty of space on the 360 disks.

There will always be a bunch of nay sayers on these forums. It's a matter volume. U sell millions of copies and u will have thousands of people who are not happy and several thousands who are. I personally feel like people look for things to tweak and gripe about. I have never researched sliders until this year. Pro and all pro were great for me. Then I got sucked into the slider forums. Big mistake. If u want playable and realistic go with my skill/IQ. It's the best! I think madden is on the wright track. I was concerned the games would be kept artificially close and the cpu/AI would cheese to win. Not true, it makes u earn your yards and points and penalizes u for dumb mistakes. Once your sliders/my skill/IQ levels off you'll see minor adjustments after every game, constantly evolving to challenge
