I'm using the 360 so I don't know if this makes a difference.
But the issue is always that I can't press the LT/RT buttons fast enough.

So rather than holding the controller the standard way I clamp it between my knees, use my thumbs to lift the analogue sticks while my fingers can press the LT/RT buttons much faster, rebuilding the stamina a lot more. With a safety I can usually get 23 reps out of this technique, a quite a few more out of Linemen.

It may seem odd, and sometimes the controller may slip and stuff you up... but for the most part it will work.
So I take it you are putting it between your legs, use your thumbs to move the sticks up, then quickly pound on the LT/RT with your index fingers? I'll have to give that a shot.

These mods make the Superstar mode unplayable for me. Which really sucks. My best Bench Press reps were 28 in 08 .

Haha! I make sure no one else is around when doing this sort of thing of course... But if you have played the Wii a few times then its by far not the worst position you find yourself with a controller...
