Honestly, Madden 09 the game that's sucked the enthusiasm out of me

Yeah, I know what you mean. Madden 10, for me, is an extreme dissappointment. I haven't played it since the beginning of October. The franchise mode is like you said, bare bones. The ratings, except for speed, don't matter; online play is full of exploits, instead of Artifical Intelligence we're left with Authentic stupidity.

The changes to the gameplay were minimal. They got rid of the roll and chuck, added a pocket(not a true pocket), slowed the game down and finally added gang tackling(which looks more like a group hug). The issues at the core still remain; there are features that still haven't made the jump to current gen; IR in franchise mode is useless as it doesn't clear a roster spot and the player's salary still counts against the cap. I could go on and on about the things that Madden 10 lacks.

In a nutshell, Madden 10 is a game of last gen quality with shiny helmets.

Last gen Madden wasn't bad though, PS2 Madden was good...PS3/360 Madden...not so much.

The final verdict isn't in for me. I'm waiting for the patch to see if it enhances the game further.

I thought 08 and 09 were the biggest borefests ever. I didn't feel that way with 10, though. Again, I'm comparing 9 to 10, so, I feel that it's a step in the right direction.

Let's see where the patch takes us, though.

Last gen wasn't bad in 2006; it's now 2009, last gen quality just isn't acceptable.

There's nothing that you can do in Madden on the 360 & PS3 that you can't do on PS2 & the original xbox.
