Ok, mjennes, I may be wrong there. But the overall point I was making was other games can be made by different developers.

It's not about the NFL wanting a certain developer to have a monopoly, it's about money. EA paid a large sum and the NFL get's advertising, promotion, and all the other hype that goes with it. I don't see it changing even if 2K (or someone else) ponies up the cash, as Madden is a marketing GIANT for the NFL. Maybe if Madden really falls of (from a mainstream standpoint, not an OS standpoint) then a window would open. For now though, it's not promising.

let's not forget that ea was nagging the nfl to give them the exclusive license before a bid was announced.

I'm not sure that changes anything honestly. I mean, the NFL could've done what the NBA & NHL did and say no.

I was optimistic that the NFL was going to see the error of its ways and not renew the original exclusivity agreement. I actually thought NFL 2K10 was a possibility.
