This is why nothing will ever change with the Madden series

X-Play on G4TV gave Madden '09 their Sports Game of 2008 award last night. Where is the incentive for EA to change anything about their product when it's still selling like hotcakes and even winning awards from critics?

Maybe a company wants to improve and increase numbers from the year before?

I think the point being made is that there is less incentive if a game which is clearly not a 10/10 game is winning awards.

you have to hope the developers behind the game want to get better.

I don't know how that is possible when it would finish a distant 3rd in just EA sports games.

Come-on we know the developers...We all know they do want to make the game better.

This is a ridiculous topic.

Well exactly. From what Ian has posted so far, he seems to want that.

I understood the point.

I just don't think a company should worry where they are in the spotlight. They should always try to improve a product and increase their sales numbers each and every year.

I just don't feel Ian or Phil would get complacent over some TV award.

I just thought the title was a bit on the negative side with the words nothing will ever in it.
