ambulance no, cart and trainers yes and we dont need to wait so long for the sequence to end and we dont need to see it on the scoreboard, we are on the field, not in the bleachers. thx OS

Re: should Madden 2010 bring back the Ambulance?

I agree with the posts here...we need to have the trainers/cart on the field for the more severe injuries, WITHOUT the crazy immediate Xray telling us what is wrong. An update from a sideline reporter later makes you have to sweat it out and is far more realistic.

Also, MANY of the injuries in Madden are only to the ball carrier or tackler...there should be more random injuries the people not even central in the play, as well as random non-contact injuries from time to time. Even the occasional "illness" before a game even starts.

As for the ambulance, the only time I recall seeing an ambulance IRL come onto the field is for severe probable paralysis type injuries where they don't want to have to move the guy around for fear of further damage...which happens maybe once every 2,000 games.

- I don't think we've ever had much push-back from the NFL on anything injury-related...I'm pretty sure they don't want us to show any crazy paralysis type injuries though. And obviously the Blitz The League type injection stuff would be out as well...but that doesn't belong either.
- I personally have wrestled with the real-time injury thing...we could definitely do it, but I just don't know if that has a place. Compound fractures, twisted knees, other broken bones...just could be too gruesome to watch and I can only imagine the youtube videos to come out of it. Also I wonder if that would make us not be E for Everyone? Not sure...
As long as their is visual evidence to show the injury, and the player reacts to the area of the hit; I think that would be good enough. If a player twisted his ankle, the player could be down and holding his ankle. Twisted knees would make the player hold his knees. The degree of the injury should be shown by what measures is required to escort the player to the sidelines/lockerroom. Does he need players and training staff help? Can he walk there on his own? Does the cart have to come out? Give us hints on the degree of injury rather then telling us right away with that (dumb) x-ray vision.

Ian can it be done? I know for 2k they did this with the penalties. When someone was called for holding, clipping, or chop blocking you can see it on the replay and it was like that for any penalty that was called. It was pretty cool.

Also if you guys can pull that off with injuries that would be hot, so can it be done , or is it a real pain in the butt?

It something nice to add but not something that should be high on the priority list.

We already do it for penalties...could use more tuning but the support and animations are there. Injuries are a possibility too...it definitely could be done...just a matter of priority.

Re: should Madden 2010 bring back the Ambulance?

It's interesting to note that there is an injury cart visible on most if not all of the fields in Madden 09... I've seen it in some stadiums in Madden near one of the tunnel entrances.

For the purpose of cutting fat, I don't think the cart needs to have a constant presence when not in-use (like it does presently) since we're not going to notice, see or be looking for it anyway while we're playing, it just needs to come out when the injury happens.

Re: should Madden 2010 bring back the Ambulance?

Personally as far as injuries goes, I really want the Injury Updates to be more realistic. When a Player gets injured I do not want to see he is out for the season immediately after, In the NFL it takes a few days to find out the extent of the Injury.

Also The Cart should not come out for every Injury, Only the Broken legs, torn ACLs, etc. I do not want to see the Cart for a sprained wrist.
