In some of the 90's versions of Madden, you had to stop after the whistle or you would get a late hit penalty for bumping someone. I am not sure what year they did away with it as some of the late 90's and early 2000 Maddens run together for me. I think it is one of the many cool features that should be brought back.

I'm fairly sure the NFL won't let them do this.

Yeah, not sure why that was ever taken out, along with the ticker.

I don't see why not. It is part of the game. They have face masks and late hits on QB's, I would not see why. It was in Madden before. It actually might have been taken out when Ps2 came out now that I think about it. That may have been one of the things that the then new gen game lost.

The reason that was given was "It shows the league in a bad light" if I remember rightly.

I never heard that. So that is why it was taken out? Kind of silly. The idiots they have playing in the league (Plaxico, T.O, Pacman) put it more in bad light.
