If the game gets amazing reviews on OS a month after its release I will rent it. No way I'm buying it.

Midnight release like usual The first week is always the best for me and is worth the $60 in my opinion. Once the newness wear's off and the negative's add up then the game becomes garbage. But the first week is usually a good week.

I'd be lieing if I didnt say I had high hopes for all the Madden games but this years I feel that the hope's are higher do to Ian's interaction here. And I feel like this will be the first BIG step in the right direction. I hope for a fundementally sound game of football before all the gimmics.

Madden 06 I played for a couple months after release.
Madden 07 I played for 2 weeks and got bored.
Madden 08 I played it for a week and traded it in.
Madden 09 I'm still playing it, and it is the game I play the most often.
Madden 2010 Can only get better from here. If I am still enjoying 09 I see no reason to hold off on buying 2010. Hopefully the Chiefs won't get much worse before next season Ha!
dude I will be 26 when Madden hits stores, god willing, and I feel old. So I totally get what you are saying.

Renting first. It is the obvious move.

Re: How will you approach Madden this year?

I've never ever bought a Madden game in my life. So I'm not mad as the rest of Madden gamers. This year will not change either, but being that it is a new staff working on this game I will try it out.

This year if there are is still glitches that people on this site have spoke of and game play is not better than last years version I can say I will treat madden as another game and not waste my time on it I don't have my gaming system for Madden.

That's a lot of work for a 60$ investment.

^^ I agree.

I remember having these discussions this time last year on another board. It's like, people feel extra macho when they say that they haven't bought Madden in X amount of years or that they rent it first 100% of the time. Saying that you haven't purchased Madden in a few years are like bragging rights nowadays. All this contemplating and decision making for $60 bucks.

Yeah I know, the economy is horrible and you have to frugal with your money. I get all that, and I'm no cash-cow myself. I just don't see why so much emphasis is put on buying/not buying Madden.
