I agree, they can't live up to it for 2010. There's far to many things that need to be added to live up to that statement.

I don't think that statement was a guarantee for 2010, just a mission statement. Thats why I said that people are going to set themselves up for disappointment, they are taking that as a guarantee for 2010, when I believe it was only meant to serve the purpose of a mission statement.

I think alot of people are getting their hopes up WAY to high. Unless you think this is going to be the last Madden game every made you better be ready for a disappointment. I'm not saying it won't be better than 09 but some of you guys are just going crazy overboard. imo.

I've said all along lately to set your expectations lower for 10. We all have different expectations of what we want vs what can be put into the game for 10.

That's why it's a good philosophy to be surprised in August if Madden turns out well.

But again I have to ask, with a team this dedicated and who are listening to us.....Is our hopes too high when we think that it should be more full and complete then a game made 5 years ago???

Re: Everything you see on Sunday...What do you think this means?

Presentation and atmosphere will be overhauled. That's a given. As terrible as NCAA's gameplay was, it was infinately more engaging than Madden because of Madden's bland atmosphere.

There will obviously be many more animations, likely for the offensive and defensive line. They're BETTER be some COMPLETELY NEW ones for the QB. It would be nice to have some real WR/DB interaction as well.

I'm guessing that the core gameplay engine will stay the same though. EA is too tied to it for them to completely scrap some of the things they need to completely scrap. So I wouldn't expect a overhaul. It's still going to be Madden....but this year it will at least be very playable.

Re: Everything you see on Sunday...What do you think this means?

I'm receptive to the slogan, but my hope is that it's actual impact isnt equal to the massive disappointment of "Beyond broadcast presentation", which also had peopled amped up at the time only to be left dejected when the product didn't meet that slogan in any major way.

With that said, a lot of what's missing at least presentation-wise is a matter of capturing scenes. Pretty much a combination of some of the scenes and angles from Madden 07, NFL Head Coach 09, and yes... NFL 2K5... and you'll have it nailed. It's certainly not impossible since at least2/3rd's of that the Madden Team already has at it's direct disposal.

It's a matter of what type of priority they've given it this time around. If it's high, then there's a great chance. All indications would suggest that it is high for this season. After that, it's all timing and how it's implemented. There can be a billion scenes and angles, but if it's not sequenced right it's going to show rather quickly that something is amiss. The one part to have confidence in though, is that they recognize how well FIFA 09 and NBA Live 09 are doing in these regards and that makes me hopeful.
