The sky is the limit IMHO.
Get a grip. Has 09 eclipsed 2K5? That we still must compare that
long ago is absurd in and of itself. The line is nothing more than
catch phrase, a marketing exercise as we near the Super Bowl.

Re: Everything you see on Sunday...What do you think this means?

Well the fact that Josh has been brought on means that the gameplay will be much improved as well as trades, injuries, FA, and the Draft.

With that being said the "Everything you see on Sunday, see in Madden NFL" I don't think will happen for Madden 10. Sure alot of things will be improved, but putting just Madden NFL means that it will be for future games too. Not everything can be done in 1 year.

The biggest things are Gameplay and Presentation, however both are BIG words and have a VAST amount of things that can be sliced into them.

What exactly does gameplay and presentation mean to Ian, Josh, and the rest of the crew? What can be realistically done in 1 year?

Only time will tell....but I think quite a few people are setting themselves up for dissapointment. Granted the thread Ian made is very promising, VERY BOLD and we are very much hoping this happens...but we have to be realistic too.

First and foremost, the game of professional football will be better replicated.

thats the EA Sports slogan.

This is the Madden team's mission statement more or less.

Re: Everything you see on Sunday...What do you think this means?

I think it's a very good thing that we're going to be getting several updates that should clear up many questions of just what some of these very bold statements really mean.

I feel that some clarification will be very important now and in the coming months, as to not let expectations run wild on just whats possible. Madden boards have been a very volatile place the last few years, and I'd hate to see confusion and misunderstandings turn to ill feelings between members of OS and the new Madden team.

I'll be honest...I don't feel real comfortable about statements being made like..."Everything you see on Sundays"...It seems to go a bit too far.

Re: Everything you see on Sunday...What do you think this means?

Madden has failed at creating a basic, visual representation of the sport for the last four years because referees have been missing. The players are all alone on the field. No one is officiating the game.

Immediately, the game doesn't look real. It's absurd that they're not there. The game of football includes referees. Their absence has been inexcusable.

The NFL has referees. I see them on Sunday. I'm glad they'll be in Madden 10. They should have never left.

(I just felt the need to rant about that again. There's nothing like a good referee post to kick off Super Bowl weekend.)
