I think this is the reason they moved away from 2010. It created confusion.

There have been polls taken showing that most people hate the "'10" name. There was one I remember over at PastaPadre that looked pretty lopsided against "'10".

I don't care for it either and would prefer 2010. 2010 just looks like a strong number. I can't explain it but I see strength in it for some reason. While "'10" makes me think "Wii" or "Ben 10", lol...

Sports games are silly by using the NEXT year's title.

Madden 09 has NOTHING to do with the 09 season, it's for the 2008 Football Season which ends in 2009.

Madden 09 huh? (this applies to all sports games). Well I guess you'll be giving us roster updates all through the year 2009 since the name of your game is 09. What? No? That's 2010?

I wish all sports games would get back on the reality clock and name their games accordingly.

If you want to be technical the most recent Madden football should have been called "Madden 2008-2009", but that doesn't sound very nice for marketing obviously. Calling it Madden 09' doesn't bother me, calling Madden 2010 makes sense to me.
