  • More return options for kickoffs and punts.
  • Defensive assignments.
  • Formation-specific substitutions.
  • Realistic fatigue.
  • Nagging player injuries that limit some ratings, not all. (Sometimes during a game, sometimes for several weeks.)
  • The ability to send receivers PARTIALLY in-motion, so that you can get a better read of the defense.
  • Better player progression ratings.
  • Fumbled snaps.
No, this isn't my full wish list -- I posted that elsewhere. These are my expectations of what I expect. None of these should be too difficult to put in Madden NFL 10.
I agree..I always wondered why the blocking and stats for blocking in NCAA Football is really realistic, tackles also..Why dont they use the same engine?? Seems that engine is more in tune with real stats than the Madden engine??? Go figure

That would be a major letdown.

Madden 2009 with an updated yet really inaccurate Arizona Cardinals roster and an extremely watered down version of Clancy Pendergast's defensive plays.

My standards are extremely low so I won't get too excited.

Re: What do you expect from Madden 10?

I expect it to be very much like 2009, but with some tweaks and fixes - and less fluff like virtual madden or fantasy football that just wastes space and dev time. More specifically:

I expect there to be very little bugs, glitches, and exploits - based on past years' dissapointments after release, I have to imagine EA is putting a huge emphasis on quality control this year.

I expect there to be a ton of customization options - such as camera angels and control configs, and plenty of effective sliders for every aspect of the gameplay.

I expect there to be refs on field, chain gans on the sideline, and a more dynamic bench and crowd - leading to an improved atmosphere.

I expect there to be an improved OL/DL blocking mechanic - just because it's soooo absolutely critical to a realistic football game.

And finally, I expect there to be multiple players piling up for fumbles and short yardage situations - only since Ian's new mantra has been stated. This is the most obvious and common thing missing from madden that happens many times in every game each Sunday.

If EA doesn't implement these things, they clearly weren't listening to the fans screaming the loudest last August. I'd basically be shocked if each of these topics aren't addressed. Needless to say, I wouldn't even buy the game for $20 if all this wasn't included. I mean, why would I? It would just be 2009 with more fluff...

-Gameplay as in better control of your defensive player.
-Online locker so you can share/pass your franchise around to friends.Spawning games would be cool again.
-Crowd chants as in(J-E-T-S,jets,jets,jets)(Fly Eagles Fly)etc, etc
-deeper stadium sounds,Viking horn and Bengal growl were downright pathetic this year, need to be louder and longer.
-Some form of QB awareness, make the cone optional again for peeps that want to use it.

Depends who you are..I would not be disappointed because there is so much they need to add to franchise mode before it goes online.
