I miss performance progression from Madden 05. I had Craig Krenzel up to a 90 in about 3 seasons and Lee Suggs to an 89...

If you pay attention to EA's Roster updates it isn't exactly much different than basing it on performance. Why make it any different for Franchise mode?

(Mini-Games need to be optional at most)

Well I hope that the guys come up with something different. Like I said I liked how the players progressed in Head Coach.

Same here, I've never even tried the mini games, a waste of disc space if you ask me. Not needed.

The only one I was I good was the Bench Press and the Crushing Run Block. I remember I developed Ryan Kalil and Jeff Otah to both have 99 Run Block

but yeah its boring.. they need more like a Tire Run to work on foot work, Gauntlet for break tackle, The Sled for Hit Power

Some of the many games are better than others, and some actually make sense for a particular position. (it's mainly the kicker ones don't make sense, given the lack of kicking drills, but there are a couple of other odds ones as well)

Some are made harder by the fact that the AI helping the player during the drill can be as dumb as a rock; the blocking drill comes to mind, where the runner has a penchant for cutting back infield at the last moment, often directly towards tacklers, after having turned the corner and getting free of everyone.

Along the same lines, the receiving drill is made difficult by the fact that the quarterback will not throw the ball as soon as the player calls for it but rather waits about three seconds after A is pressed, despite being the only offensive skill player on the field and regardless of how open the player is.

Basically, I think the drills need a bit of tuning, but nothing more. Maybe add a few new ones to spice it up.

That said, I freaking HATE the Bench Press and 40 Yard Dash drills. Not only are they impossible, but they aren't fun at all. If they never appeared in another Madden game again, I'd be happy.

Also, I think improvements need to be kept in check. There are some ratings that just shouldn't improve no matter what. Speed & throwing power come to mind. A player may be able to boost these attributes a weeeeeee bit early in his career, but that's about it.

Players tend to get bigger, stronger & smarter. Strength increases should be very minimal and awareness should be mostly for younger players.
