Re: Unnecessary Roughness

Can they just reword it to 'late hit'. I guess the NFL won't allow ambulances or stretchers on the field too

Re: Unnecessary Roughness

The last I heard on this was the NFL did not want personal fouls (i.e. dead ball fouls) in the video game, so EA had to take them out.

So, I don't know if you'll see these types of infractions flagged in Madden 10 either. Sorry, trust me...I'm in favor of having these calls back for two reasons...

1. It makes the user on defense think & say "Do i want to play it safe? Or, be aggressive? If he gets to the ball a step or two late...he'll be subject to a flag. As it stands now...the defense can just come after the QB no matter what.

2. Realism- How can they take this aspect of football out of a NFL simulation???

I understand the NFL needs to protect the shield, and certain aspects of the game (i.e. fighting, or excessive celebrations) are undesirable...but come on man...no late hit flags???

I'm extremely disappointed by this!

Re: Unnecessary Roughness

It would be nice to hear from Ian right about now lol but events where my players got hurt or just completely blasted happen way to often when me and my friend play(cz he only big hits and he does it well) and itd be nice to have a flag or two happen if there is a late hit or its unncessary roughness.

Re: Unnecessary Roughness

The NFL is so hypocritical when it comes to this issue. This is the same league that has showcased brutal hits on countless highlight shows and packages through the years. Besides, late hits are part of the game; why try to hide it? It almost reminds me of when the NHL requested that EA Sports eliminate fighting from its hockey video games back in the mid-90's. If you're that concerned about the league's image, why not ban fighting from the actual sport instead of worrying about a video game depiction?
