blocking logic on breakaway runs

one of the things that have bug me alot about the blocking of madden is the blocking logic on breakaway runs or pick 6s.

in this video, jammers denies miller at the goal line by causing the fumble, hart picks the ball up with day light. Jammer who is hart's lead blocker decides to go back and block a raider player that is trailing way behind the play while other raiders tackles me. This should be corrected and it would also create more celebration moments while stamping into the endzone with your teammates.

whats everyone else's opinion

Re: blocking logic on breakaway runs

In real life, players rarely ever turn around to block someone unless they are on their way to the end zone with no defenders in front of them.

This logic should apply to all blocking on changes of possession or kick/punt returns, not just breakaway runs.

Good post.

After watching the video several times I agree. Jammer should have lead the way upfield, rather than turning back as he did.

A positive thing that I did see though, was the number of Raider players that seemed to correctly respond to the ball being fumbled.

Re: blocking logic on breakaway runs

Just curious to see if any of you guys have seen this, since it is related to the original topic.

When you are on defense and the opposing RB busts through the line, as expected there is only a few playyers left as the last line of defense. However, in some cases I have noticed that these playeyrs pursue the ball but then warp themselves into engaging with a blocker on teh next level rather than pursuing the ball carrier.

I have had this happen many times, where a guy could've easily went and made a tackle, but instead went to engage a blocker, allowing a long TD run.
