Ian- player photo/create player option.
I was reading a thread on how nice it would be to generate a photo of the created player they are making. I had another take on it completely, that would keep the created player photo's in line with the other photo's used in the game. Why not have it where you can upload a 150x150 JPEG,GIF,ETC(example size) photo of what ever you want(use a front face shot). Its pretty easy to find any of your past favorite player photo's(barry sanders, warren moon, joe montana, etc) or you could simply add your own photo of yourself to your created player. Chances are, your created player is someone you know, seen, if not yourself all togther. This would be awesome! Your own photo in the game. You are making the created players look as best to these photo's anyway, why not have the real thing? The best part is, EA saves money on paying for the retired players photo options prices, and can use it elsewhere(like in design of the actual create a player face models). Or if a photo option isnt available, we could add it ourselves. Just a thought.
We could even wear our favorite team jersey's in the photo we upload, or as a option easily photoshop/gimp a jersey under our heads if we dont own a jersey. In such a small photo, you would NEVER know it was photoshop. Even better allow moving GIF files to be used. Moving animation loops would be sweet, and shouldnt be hard to support these days. ** Id actually like to see moving photo's on the NFL players, like they do lately on the real broadcasts. There heads turn, smile, etc as they are telling name/college/position when they introduce the team lineups.
Got to love how easy it is to do these things in 2009
