Do sim gamers really want difficulty settings?

I want EA to give me a game I dont have to adjust(or in Madden IQ case have them adjust it for me)sliders. Thats there safety net for not making the game sim. If the ratings are implemented properly and the AI is intelligent sliders are pointless. I shouldnt have to adjust a slider in order for my o-lineman to do his f*cking job and block. Sliders make no sense if i turn the run blocking sliders up now a o-lineman whos is bad at run blocking just pancake the whole defense. Sliders shouldnt effect player proformance that should be controlled by that player ratings!
