Re: Franchise Immersion

I hope they open up the custom logos a bit.

I liked having the option of a franchise that was nothing but created teams in small scale markets.

Re: Franchise Immersion

I think the real problem facing us, as football game players, and Madden's development team is that EA is attempting to please everyone with this one game. It's an impossible task. On one hand we have football fanatics who want the game to be as authentic as possible. Although some like to control the action (game players) while others, like me, prefer to guide our teams (coach mode) we both want the gameplay and stats to reflect real life football as closely as possible. Creating killer gameplans, designing plays, tweeking rosters and following the league and player stats are what interest us. We don't mind losing games, in fact we like having to struggle through a season. What we want is for our football knowledge & stratagy to matter. On the other hand Madden has a large action football following. These 5 minute quarter players are more interested in showing off their stick skills than refining their game planning or team management abilities. Regardless of any franchise improvements these guys buy Madden every year so it's only natural that EA caters to them with hyped events like the the Madden Experience and Madden Nation. Now, add to this EA's stated goal of increasing Madden's accessability to the casual gaming community and you have a real no win situation. Especially for those of us who relish games like Head Coach. Franchise immersion is a lofty goal and to EA Sports credit they have tried to please those of us who prefer the management side of football. Unfortunately, sales drive the industry and franchise sim games don't sell like action games do. So we'll just have to have faith that Ian, Donny and Josh have our best interest in mind as we watch a fine game like Head Coach fade away once again.

I also agree with the Head Coach comments. If they were to implement the same Off season system as HC 09, I would actually stand in line for Madden 10 this year. And please don't forget the injury and contract negotiations system......A thing of beauty!

Even if we only got those two main things from Head Coach (the entire off season and injuries) I would be so ridiculously happy
