I think these percentages may have a place for the CPU somehow, but under user control I think it's bad.

Its not meant for the user. The user does what the user wants to. This is for mainly the CPU.

It is a simple idea, but for EA to put it in this year and test it out, would be too time consuming. Maybe that could have it in for Madden 11', but i don't see them making putting this in this year.

Then when you said you wanted team tendencies, what do you mean. Do you want the Bills to always be set the way you have them, or should they be able to change by hiring a new coach or coordinator.

1st off the team is in user control. We can change them as much as we want. When you hire a new HC the options change to the coach. Its not realy team settings, its coach settings.

There are much deeper ways of implementing something in those lines.

Your "idea"? It's too simple, been "thought of" before, probably even made "dev meetings".

Dont take it personal, but I hate multiple threads on the same subject.

Okay i understand as the user we can control our team settings. I was leaning more towards, what if the CPU hires a new coach. Do the settings change then.

Or if your team has Peyton Manning how will that effect a team tendency...or if you got Brad Johnson back at QB will that effect the tendency? (this is if the CPU picked up these players)

Ex- NBA2K9 has player tendencies in it. I have seen some rookies come from there that will have a rating of 45 from 3 pt range but have a tendency to shoot threes rated at 80. This is not a good combo

It is a decent idea but i personal see flaws it.
Antoine Walker was like this in real life. Garbage from 3, but would always be in the top 5 in attempts.

If they put it into the game then we will find out. But I think it should.

Re: Poll for my idea

Heres the basics

QB

Risks- How often do QBs take risks
Scramble- How often does the QB scramble to by time or gain yds
Pocket- how often does the QB stay in the pocket
Deep- In any situation, how often does the QB throw the ball deep. You can say this depends on the play and situation but even so, a player like Brees would chunk the ball down the field in a last minute effort while Trent Edwards would throw shorter passes. Basically deep means how often does the QB attempt a 30+ yd throw
Medium- How often does the QB attempt a 15-20 yd throw
Short- How often does the QB attempt a 5-10 yd throw (this will always be a little higher)

RB

Cut to the outside- How often does the RB cut to the outside when running the ball. It will make you think more when the RB is stopped that they might go the other way.
Stay inside- How often does the RB like to stay inside and gain as much yds as he can
Power- How often does the RB like to lower his head or stiff arm his way out of a tackle
Finnesse- How often does the RB juke or spin to get away

WR

Leaping catches- How often does the reciever attempt to make the tough catches and leave his body on the line
Possession catch- How often does the reciever attempt to just reel the ball in without trying to be fancy

DL/LB

Speed- How often does the DE/DT try to use his speed instead of moves
Finnesse- How often does the DE/DT try to use a spin or swim move
Power- How often does the DE/DT try to power his way
Hit stick- How often does the LB try for the big hit instead of wrap up
Strip- How often does the LB try to strip the ball
Wrap up- How often does the LB try to wrap up the man

DB

INT- How often does the DB try to go the extra step to make the INT
PD- How often does the DB just try to get a hand on it
Big hit- How often does the DB try to hit the guy and make him drop the pass

Coaching

Pass vs Run- What does the coach do more, passing or running
Deep, short, medium- Does the coach play conservative with short and medium passes, or does he like to let the QB air it out.
Run outside/Inside- Does the coach like the plays to be designed inside for small yds or outside to always try to hit the big play
Blitz vs zone vs man- does the coach like to blitz go zone alot or go man to man

Character/Celebration

Celebration- does the player normally celebrate after a TD or just hand the ball to the ref
Outside trouble- Does the player get in off the field trouble yielding a supension
Attitude- Does the player tend to give up on the team in a losing game or a losing season or demand a new contract. With this, if you dont start winning or give him a contract, he wont play well and ratings will drop. More noticably for a WR, route running and speed, QBs will be accuracy, awareness, and scramble, RB would be speed, break tackles, juke.

Examples of the players that each would be high with

QB

Risks- Warner, Favre, Cutler
Scramble- McNabb, Cutler, Romo
Pocket- Manning, Brady, Edwards, Brees
Deep- Brady, Brees, Favre
Medium- Manning, Cassell, Flacco, Pennington
Short- Edwards, Ryan

RB

Cut to the outside- LT, Barry Sanders, Westbrook, Peterson
Stay inside- Lynch, Barber,
Power- Barber, Lynch, Ducket
Finnesse- LT, Peterson, Westbrook

WR

Leaping catches- Moss, TO, Chad
Possession catch- Ward, Welker, Evans

DL/LB

Speed- Peppers, Ware, Suggs
Finnesse- Peppers, Ware, Schobel
Power- Stroud, Feguson, Jenkins
Hit stick- Porter, Simms, DJ Williams
Wrap up- Lewis, Urlacher, Scott

DB

INT- Baily, Samuel
PD- McGee, Newman, Woodson
Big hit- Roy Williams, Donte Whitner, late Sean Taylor

Character/Celebration

Celebration- Chad Johnson, TO
Outside trouble- Chris Henry
Attitude- Chad Johnson, TO
