Quick 09' Question

I'm big-time excited for Madden 10, but since it's months away, I'm still trying to have some fun with 09. My question for any of you that might know is:

The weekly mini training sessions you do only seem to raise the "weapons" ratings of players, and I usually play with weapons off. Am I getting ANY benefit from completing these training sessions, or do I have to turn on weapons to see the benefit?

I realize all of you are more into Madden 10 at this point, but I would really appreciate an answer to this?

Atleast for Madden 10 the mini training games will be removed.

You are improving them. They get a weapon for having so many points. Ex, a CB has 80 Coverage, you work him to 90 and he finally gets shutdown corner

I realize the training sessions improve weapons ratings, but do these "weapons improvements" affect anything if weapons is turned off?

I know they do still work to some extent, the weapons that is. Raising a corners shutodwn corner skill will raise his abilty to play Man 2 Man,

i do believe that payers with those skills get slight boost if weapons are on compared to weapons being off.

Best example: Quick Receiver.. definitly has a major effect with weapons on, not so much with weapons off, but they are still quicker in and out of cuts, biggest effect on slants and dig routes.

Proof that the drills effect performance without weapons on? Play man to man Vs comback routes. a 99 shutdown corner will perfectly stick with the receiver, a 95 shutdown corner will get turned around for a second during the comeback, a 80 shutdown corner will keep running until he relizes he is all alone and the WR already has the ball.
