If Madden proves to be "too hard" for average gamers, ala MLB The Show, there'll be alot of complaints: "I just cannot throw a pass to save my life!!! I can't run worth a dam!!!" "I'm 0-6 with the Patriots! This game's too hard, even on Rookie level!!!!" Etc......

On the other hand, hardcore simmers will love the challenge, and the online cheesers will be rooted out.

So, if Ian's "getting owned" by the computer, it's a good sign. But, in my opinion, it still needs to cater to both hardcore and casual players. I.e., not too easy, but not too hard.

We'll see....

Sliders and difficulty settings are enough to cater to both sides, but the default setting should be SIM. The people that complain will always complain if they don't understand football.

I like FIFA and NHL, but can't play them to save my life because I haven't taken the time to learn the intricies of those sports (i.e. plays, players, positions, line changes etc.) Football is no different. If you don't know which D or O to select, how can you possibly be successful?

^^^^^^That's true.
I know there'll be pages and pages of Madden 10 user sliders available that will help.

Look I am excited too because I love football but we have seen ONE SCREENSHOT and a little conjecture from the game developers. I wish Ian and the crew all the best and they seem to be really good but I'm just saying we need to gauge the response and be OPEN-MINDED.

If you feel the need to continue to bash me then go for it but I stand by my comment and just like you, have every right to say it... hence the word "forum."
No one will disagree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

But this comment is aimed at telling everyone else their thoughts are wrong and everyone needs to wait until we see game footage to judge the game.

When in fact some people can be happy with the changes made to the game up to this point if they would like to.

Seriously, we've have already seen a lot; it's March. We usually don't see and anything till after the draft, and that's only the first round draftees in their new team's uni's. There are a lot of things that have been corrected. It's hard not to get excited with all the corrections and info that were seeing.

I feel you though, I don't want to get let down again, but the improvements are getting me excited. I really miss playing football video game, especially with all the crap that's on TV.
